February 05, 2019 – La Joya, Texas.
Gardian Angel, LLC is thrilled to announce an order for 300 of their popular school bus accident prevention lights to La Joya ISD. This is the largest order in the history of the Gardian Angel® school bus safety lighting system.
“We look forward to hearing about the great results in decreasing illegal passing incidents and keeping La Joya children safer.” said Steve Gardner, Founder and CEO of Gardian Angel, LLC. Steve is also the inventor of the patented product that is lighting up the nation. Mr. Gardner invented his school bus lighting system after seeing a news story in January 2010 about a local teenage student that was hit and killed by an illegally passing motorist as she tried to board her school bus. The driver ignored the school bus stop sign and killed the teenager.
Texas was the 12th state to permit the Gardian Angel® as an available option to school buses in January 2015. La Joya ISD is just one of the many school districts in the country that have purchased the Gardian Angel®. This purchase is a proactive step which prevents illegal school bus passing, distracted driving, and increases school bus stop safety. Unlike the controversial school bus exterior cameras that catch violators and issue fines in the mail, the Gardian Angel® works to prevent these issues from ever occurring, thus saving lives and saving the public heaps of money. Gardian Angel uses a white LED flood light at the front of the bus to illuminate a path for students to cross the street, and to make the students more visible to motorists.
Founder and Inventor, Steve Gardner and his son Andrew Gardner have worked tirelessly for the last 9 years proving their bus parts and accumulating credibility among leading transportation officials and committees across the U.S. The positive effect of proactively combating stop arm violations by the Gardian Angel® has already been tested, proven, and documented by school transportation industry leaders across the Nation. The Gardner’s have received the honor of having the LED lighting system available as optional equipment to school buses in the following 20 states: Alaska, Arkansas, Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Maine, Michigan, Missouri, Mississippi, North Carolina, Nebraska, New Jersey, Nevada, New York, Ohio, Texas, Vermont, Wisconsin, West Virginia, and Wyoming.
Gardian Angel® is specifically listed in manuals such as North Carolina’s School Transportation Fleet Manual and is also endorsed by the Michigan Association for Pupil Transportation.
The Gardian Angel® School Bus Lighting System is a safety system is composed of a 1,000 lumen white LED flood light which shines out the side of the front of the bus. The safety feature is aimed at the ground at a 45 degree angle and provides a ground wash effect no less than 15 feet from the bus. The system automatically turns on when the red lights are activated, and turn off when the entrance door of the bus is closed.
Texas specifications will not allow the red strobes on the system, but they do allow the white light illuminating the left side of the front of the school bus, or dual white lights illuminating both sides of the front of the school bus. Gardian Angel, LLC reminds customers to check with state requirements for specific mounting locations as they may vary.
